CRC Central Remedial Clinic

Based in CRC Finance Team, Clontarf – Part-time (20 hours wte), 1 year Fixed Term Contract

Due to significant growth, there is a requirement for an experienced Payroll assistant. The Payroll assistant will be part of the Finance team and report to the payroll manager. The role is responsible for delivering a professional service to the highest standards whilst ensuring confidentiality and all statutory and regulatory requirements are always met.

We currently have the following part-time vacancy:

  • Payroll Assistant – Part-time, 20 hours per week, 12 month fixed term contract

The successful candidates will have the following essential requirements:

  • IPASS (Irish Payroll Association) Payroll qualification
  • Possess detailed knowledge of payroll processing
  • Knowledge of Income tax regulations, PAYE modernisation, PRSI contributions, USC calculation, ROS and EFT processes. Ensuring that compliance requirements (Revenue, Pensions etc) are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • The role requires someone who has excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility
  • The flexibility to work in a changing environment
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel spreadsheets, payroll and accounting software.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to work on their own initiative
  • Ability to identify areas/processes for improvement.
  • Adhere to the Company policies, procedure, controls and deadlines to ensure excellent service
  • Actively assist with internal and external financial audits, taking ownership of agreed areas and delivering the required information
  • Manage tight turnaround times and strict deadlines without compromising on quality of work.
  • Develop and improve payroll control and compliance reports and procedures.

Desirable requirements

  • Previous payroll experience in a health service environment.
  • Specific Payroll system experience with Megapay software.
  • Proven experience in payroll and general accounting
  • Must display above average attention to detail in work performance
  • Experience of delivering payroll projects would be an advantage

competencies and knowledge for the post. Department of Health salary applies, Clerical Officer Grade IV scale €31,547 – €50,348.
