Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our busy payroll department within a leading accountancy firm. The successful candidate will manage a diverse client portfolio, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing while delivering a high standard of client service.
Key Responsibilities
• Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients across various industries.
• Ensure compliance with Irish Revenue requirements and all statutory obligations (PAYE Modernisation, AE, PRSI, USC, pensions, etc.).
• Prepare and submit periodic payroll returns and reconciliations.
• Manage client onboarding and offboarding processes, including setting up payroll systems and final payment calculations.
• Maintain accurate employee and client payroll records in line with GDPR and retention policies.
• Conduct periodic payroll reviews and quality checks to ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Liaise with clients, Revenue, and other relevant bodies on payroll-related queries.
• Prepare payroll-related journals and reports for finance teams.
• Keep up to date with Irish payroll legislation, advising clients on relevant changes.
Key Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a payroll position, preferably within an accountancy or outsourced bureau environment.
• IPASS qualification (or currently undertaking) essential.
• Understanding of payroll software such as PayDay BrightPay, Micropay
• Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
• Proven ability to handle multiple client deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
• Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
