Role Overview
We are looking to strengthen our existing Client Payroll Team and are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our Dundalk office This role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who is eager to further progress their career in a fast-paced payroll bureau environment. As a Payroll Specialist within the Firm your role will encompass a broad range of duties which shall include:
Payroll Processing
• Prepare weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls using BrightPay software, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Review timesheets for accuracy before uploading to payroll software.
• Calculate holiday pay and statutory payments (e.g., sick pay, maternity pay, paternity pay).
• Calculate and process benefits in kind for inclusion in payroll.
• Maintain pension contribution records and upload reports to pension providers where required.
• Assist with bank transfers for salary payments.
• Distribute payslips on or before the payment date.
• Submit monthly PAYE returns to Revenue and manage associated payments.
Client Management
• Manage a dedicated portfolio of payroll clients, liaising regularly to ensure excellent service.
• Support the delivery of payroll services to a diverse portfolio, including domestic and international clients, ensuring work meets professional standards and agreed timeframes.
• Liaise with clients throughout the year to maintain strong relationships.
• Assist in proposals for new work and participate in presentations to prospective clients as required.
Team Support & Quality Assurance
• Conduct reviews and quality checks of payroll processed by junior team members.
• Assist with technical queries and support the professional development of junior team members.
• Support the payroll manager with team training and development where required.
• Remain up to date with Irish payroll legislation to ensure compliance.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Additional Duties
• Assist the Payroll Manager with invoicing and billing processes.
• Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.
• Complete ad hoc tasks and assignments relevant to the role.
About You
• You will have at least 2 – 3 years’ experience working in a busy payroll bureau environment
• You are IPASS qualified
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of payroll including PAYE, PRSI, USC, BIK, ROS, EFT, CSO, Gender Pay Gap & SSP
• Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to manage multiple engagements, delegate appropriately and manage a team
• Experience with coaching/managing junior team members (Desirable)
• You will be tech-savvy
