About the Role

We are a long-established, small accountancy practice supporting SMEs, sole traders, and community organisations.

We are seeking an experienced, part or fully qualified candidate to take on a varied, hands-on role covering payroll, full accounts preparation, and general practice administration. This role suits someone comfortable working independently in a small practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing weekly and monthly payrolls across multiple clients
  • Managing payroll compliance (PAYE, USC, PRSI, Revenue submissions)
  • Full preparation of accounts from books to final stage using Excel (extended trial balance)
  • VAT returns and general tax compliance support
  • Bookkeeping and reconciliations
  • Managing client queries and day-to-day communications
  • General practice administration and workflow management

Requirements

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant or payroll professional
  • STRONG EXPERIENCE in an accountancy practice (essential)
  • Proven ability to prepare accounts independently
  • Strong Excel skills (core requirement)
  • Experience with BrightPay, QuickBooks, Big Red Cloud or similar
  • Solid understanding of Irish payroll and tax compliance
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritise, and meet deadlines
