POSITION SUMMARY
The payroll administrator has the responsibility of making sure that individuals and personnel are paid accurately and at the appropriate date.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processes Company’s payroll from end to end on a weekly schedule.
  • Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
  • Computes employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes
  • Monitors holiday & leave data.
  • Handles changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles
  • Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law
  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
  • Honours confidentiality of employees’ pay records
  • Completes payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review
  • Performs the distribution of wages through issuance of paper checks or direct transfers to employees’ bank accounts
  • Respond to personnel inquiries on pay slip and time sheets
  • Processing expenses, sick, holiday and maternity pay
  • Process weekly payroll journal and holiday accrual

HR Administrator

  • HR Administrator is involved in the recruitment process, setting up interviews, organising pre-employment appointments, correlating the results, organising start dates,
  • liaising with trainers to schedule induction training
  • Setting up starter packs for new employees
  • Setting up files for each new employee
  • Preparing and issuing contracts
  • Managing temporary contracts
  • Ordering elements of PPE
  • Correlating data on absence, labour hours, leavers & joiners, recruitment & training spreadsheets
  • Checking paperwork for good Documentation Practices (GDP)

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrating an understanding of payroll taxes
  • Proficiency in a payroll system
  • Proficiency in a timekeeping system.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload, work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage time
  • Quick learner with the ability to become efficient in a short time frame
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent desktop IT skills (Experience of Excel, Word , Accounting and Payroll software )
  • The integrity and honesty to respect confidential information.
  • Ability to multitask with excellent prioritizing skills
  • Exceptional attention to details and experience working with attendance and time
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong administration skills
  • Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED

  • Possessing some Human Resources experience
  • Having knowledge regarding payroll processing Mega Pay would be a distinct advantage
  • An accredited qualification in payroll administration. IPASS qualification is desirable.
